Getting Ready for the Rapture

The end is nigh, apparently. And by the end of today folks like me are to be left to rot on Earth, while god-fearing kind will be vacuumed up to some place nicer. As a responsible blogger, I felt it was my duty to give you some final film recommendations - films that will not only get you in the mood for the painful rapture that is due at 6pm somewhere, but will also give you a preview of what is about to befall us. Happy times.

The following is a list of 5 apocalyptic, end-of-worldy films of varying quality, from sublime to wasted opportunity. But they have one thing in common - it's the end of the world as we know it and we should all feel fine.

Akira
The world has already ended (sort of), but it ends just a little bit more.

Antichrist
Man and Woman have lost their child. They return to Eden, where Woman goes a little crazy.

Shame
A couple's idyllic life on an island is disrupted by the approaching all-out war.

Songs from the Second Floor
It all started with a traffic jam.

They Came Back
The dead return from the grave without a sign of rot or soil. The people are a little confused.

Enjoy the Rapture, everyone. Cheers!

Yet another great post. Just one quick question, though - are there any films you HAVEN'T seen?!

Thank you, kind sir, much appreciated. And as to your question, I haven't seen Jaws yet. True story.
